About the Squadron

Free Flight Rubber powered aircraft contest!

We are a radio control (R/C) model aircraft club dedicated to the advancement of scale R/C modeling.

Our club is an AMA Charter Club, No 1520.

From the history of the aircraft to building techniques, we talk airplane and have a passion for flying these beautiful miniature aircraft. Whether you’re detailing a Ready-to-Fly foam airplane or building a giant scale aircraft from scratch, you’ll find members with common interests and experience. Share ideas, overcome building challenges, and get encouragement along the way when you attend meetings and go flying with your fellow club members. It’s part of the Scale Squadron’s tradition of nurturing scale modelers and promoting the sport.

Whether it’s jets or warbirds, gas/nitro or electric powered, we model it scale to the full size airplane! It is our goal to grow and share this great hobby. And like any great club, we’re only as good as our members. The Scale Squadron is proud to have great members with a passion for modeling that is only rivaled by the camaraderie and friendship you’ll find when you join and participate in this fine model aircraft club. Non-members are always welcome guests at our open club meetings (on the 2nd Monday of every month). Come on out and see what it’s all about. You’ll find scale modeling might not only be fun but might just be easier than you think!
